Whether you're moving to a new job or simply trying out a different phone, there may come a time when you need to remove your SIM card from the Motorola Droid Maxx. This process can be difficult without the proper tools, but a little know-how can help you get it done quickly.
Before beginning, make sure that the device is completely turned off. This will ensure that no accidental damage occurs to the SIM card or the phone itself. Additionally, it is important to note that factory resetting a phone deletes all information stored on the phone. This can be useful if you're giving or selling the phone and want to ensure that the new owner won't have access to any personal files.
Start by placing the Droid Maxx on a flat plastic surface with plenty of room for your fingers and tools. Use your holding hand to gently support the back of the phone and use your thumb on the bottom portion of the rubber case. This will prevent it from slipping out of your hands while you work.
Once the phone is on its side, locate the volume buttons towards the center of the phone. The bottom of the volume button has a slit where you can slide a fingernail into. Once you have located the slit, you can gently pry up the entire volume button and remove the SIM tray. If you're unsure of where the SIM tray is, look for the word "UP" stamped on the bottom part of the volume button.
