How to Save Music on Instagram

You are on Instagram and you see a reel with music that really grabs your attention. It could be a song you’ve been wanting to use or maybe a trending sound clip. Using popular music in your Instagram Reels is key to getting them discovered and reaching a wide audience. Most influencers and businesses incorporate a popular song in their Reels to increase their reach on the platform.

The latest version of the Instagram app allows you to save audio clips directly from within the Reels feature and add them to your story before posting. It’s another way that Instagram is trying to compete with TikTok, which has taken over the short-form video space.

Once saved, the audio can be used in any future Reels videos you create. It can also be shared on your profile or over DM. To access the saved audio, go to your Reels and select the musical symbol in the bottom right corner. Then tap “Saved audio”.

This is a great new feature that will allow you to quickly find the perfect song to compliment your Instagram Reels. Just be aware that if you download a song from the internet to your phone and then upload it to your Reels, Instagram may detect this as copyright infringement and flag the content. To avoid this, only upload music that you have a license for. If you are not sure, consult with a lawyer or copyright expert before using any third-party tools to download music to your phone or computer for use in your Reels.
