The AirPods Pro are equipped with unique controls that allow you to play, pause, and skip songs without having to use your iPhone. These controls are accessed by pressing the stems of your earbuds. They look like a flat rectangle and are sensitive to pressure, making them feel like buttons.

The 1st generation AirPods and 2nd gen AirPods will skip songs if you double-tap on the stems. However, it may not be the default setting on your device. If you want to set this as the default action, go to Settings > Bluetooth, and tap i next to your AirPods. Then, tap the double-tap settings, and select either the left or right AirPod.

On the other hand, the 3rd gen AirPods have different controls. In this article, I’ll explain how to skip songs on airpods pro without using your phone.

You can control a wide variety of audio features directly on the AirPods by pressing the force sensor or Touch Control. You can play and pause audio, change noise control modes (including Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode), adjust the volume with a swipe of your finger, and answer calls.

Moreover, you can use the force sensor to summon Siri and perform various commands. You can also use the Digital Crown to perform functions such as adjusting the volume, pausing, and skipping songs. However, if your AirPods Pro aren’t skipping songs when you press the force sensor or Digital Crown, it may be due to a miscommunication between your devices. If this is the case, restarting your iPhone or adjusting the settings should fix it.
