Whether you want to save a picture of your new playlist or record that error message you're sending to your boss, there are lots of reasons to take a screenshot on your droid mini. But, how do you actually go about doing that? And, can you do it without installing an extra app?
The first thing you'll need to do is find a couple of physical buttons. Locate the power button and the volume down key (on older phones, you might have a Power + Home button combination). Then, quickly press both buttons at the same time. If everything goes well, the screen will flash, indicating that a screenshot has been taken. You'll also notice a "Screenshot" icon appear at the bottom of the screen, and you can tap it to share the image or open it in your gallery app.
On some devices, you can also do a hands-free screenshot by using Google Assistant. To trigger the assistant, say "Hey Google," then follow with, "Take a screenshot."
Another option is to use the three-finger capture gesture. This works a bit differently depending on the device, but you'll typically find it in your photo gallery app or (if you're using a Moto phone) in the Moto Actions menu in Settings. To enable it, go to Settings > Moto actions and toggle the three-finger screenshot switch on.
