Screenshots are a great way to record what's on your iPhone screen, whether you want to share something with friends or help troubleshoot an issue. But if you're new to the Apple world or just don't know how to take a screenshot on iphone 8, you might not be sure how to do it.

If you have an iPhone that has a Home button, like the iPhone 7 or later or the iPhone 8 or iPhone X, you can easily capture a screenshot by pressing the Home and Side buttons at the same time. Once you release the buttons, a thumbnail of the screenshot will appear in the bottom left corner of your screen. From there, you can tap the image to crop it or add text, a signature or even a magnifier. Once you're done, you can save the screenshot to Photos app or use it in apps like Messages and Mail.

On older iPhones, you can also take a screenshot by pressing the Home and Power button simultaneously. You can then find the image in the Photos app in the Screenshots album.

Alternatively, you can enable AssistiveTouch, which lets you perform more advanced touch-based commands without having to press and hold any buttons at the same time. You can enable it by going to Settings General Accessibility AssistiveTouch and choosing Screenshot.

If you have an iPhone that doesn't have a Home button, like the iPhone 15 Pro, all things iPhone 14 or the iPhone X, you can still take a screenshot by pressing the side button and up volume button at the same time. To save the screenshot, you'll see a thumbnail in the lower left corner of the screen.
