How to Take Separate Photos on bereal:

BeReal is a popular photo-sharing app among Gen Z. It prompts users at a specific time each day to snap a picture of whatever they're doing in the moment. Users have two minutes to complete the post, which features a selfie and a picture of their surroundings. The app says it's meant to help people connect more authentically with friends. Its popularity has been surging in recent months, but it's not clear whether the app is a fad or not.

When you click a BeReal, the app simultaneously activates the back camera and the selfie camera. The rear camera takes a picture of your surroundings and the selfie captures a picture of you. These pictures are then merged together into a BeReal post. You can also choose whether you want to make the post public or viewable by your friends only.

If you want to save your BeReal to your phone, tap the three dots at the bottom of the preview screen. This will reveal more options, including a delete button, which is currently the only option for private BeReals.

Once your BeReal is live, you can comment or react to other people's posts by using a variety of RealMoji reactions, including laughing-crying. You can also add a caption. Like stories on other social media platforms, BeReal posts are only live for 24 hours. Afterward, they're moved to the Memories section of the app.
