If you're seeing a notification that says AirPods Nearby or something similar to that, it's likely because someone else's pair of Apple's wireless earphones is moving with you. While the feature can be useful if you misplace your AirPods, it can also be quite annoying if you receive these notifications even though the earphones aren't actually following you. Thankfully, there are a few different ways to get rid of the problem.

You can disable the AirPods nearby notification by accessing the Settings app and heading to the 'Devices' tab. From there, you should be able to locate the 'Notify When Left Behind' option. Simply tap on it to turn the setting off. This should eliminate the 'AirPods Detected' messages that keep popping up on your device.

This method works on all versions of the iPhone and iPad, including the latest model, the AirPods Pro. It is also compatible with the previous generation of the earphones, as well as other models of Apple's Bluetooth headphones. If you are unsure whether or not your device supports Bluetooth headphones, it is best to consult the manufacturer's website for more information.

You can also disable the 'AirPods detected' message by opening the Find My settings on your device and tapping the i icon next to the name of your AirPods. From there, select 'Forget This Device' and you should no longer receive these alerts if you misplace the earphones. This is a much quicker option than having to open the 'Settings' app and navigate to the 'Devices' settings.
