Polaroid Originals is trying to bring back some of the magic of instant photography with a new gadget called Polaroid Lab. This smart gadget turns digital photos and video clips from your smartphone into tangible Polaroid photographs. It's a fun device, but it can also be a bit frustrating and expensive if you don't know how to use it properly.
To use the Polaroid Lab, you need to download the Polaroid app from the App Store or Google Play and follow the instructions to create an image. The app will guide you to place your smartphone on the Lab and align it correctly. You should also remove any phone covers or screen protectors, as these can influence the final result. You'll also need to turn off any apps that can affect your screen color, such as Night Shift or True Tone.
After you've placed your smartphone on the Lab, press the black button on the side to start the process. Once the device has finished, a photo will eject under what's known as a film shield. You should hold it in a dark place away from light, and let it develop (black and white photos take about five minutes to develop, while color pictures take 10-15 minutes).
It's important to shut off the Polaroid Lab after each use. This will help protect the internal components from dust and prevent unnecessary wear and tear. You should also regularly wipe the lens and surface of the Polaroid Lab with a soft, lint-free cloth to keep it looking its best. Finally, you should close the device's lid securely, and ensure that the film cartridge is fully retracted inside the Lab.
