Whether it’s a matter of privacy, technical problems or energy savings, there are times when you need to turn off your Ring camera. This article will teach you how to do it in a few simple steps without having to use an app.
A lot of people get Ring video cameras for security reasons, especially when they’re worried about burglars and robbery. However, the cameras can also be used to spy on neighbors and their children, and they’ve been known to get hacked. The easiest way to protect yourself is by knowing how to turn off your ring camera without an app when necessary.
There are several reasons why you might want to turn off your ring camera, including a renovation or construction project, switching Wi-Fi networks, or a power outage. By turning off your camera, you can prevent it from recording or sending notifications when there’s no movement around it. It’s important to note, though, that turning off motion detection does not prevent anyone with shared access from using the live view feature of your camera.
To do this, open the Ring app and select your device from the list of devices. Then, tap the three-lined icon in the top left corner of the screen to open the menu and then select “Devices.” Toggle off the Motion Detection switch. This will stop your camera from recording when it detects motion, but will not stop other recordings (such as manual videos or Event History). It will also keep you from receiving notification and live view alerts.
