Using the vibrate feature on an iphone is a great way to discreetly alert yourself to calls, texts, and other important notifications. However, if you’re experiencing random vibrations on your device it may be time to disable haptics. Luckily, disabling the feature is incredibly simple and can be done with just a few taps. Depending on the cause of your random rumbles, you may be able to resolve the issue by updating iOS, rebooting, or even performing a hard reset. But if that doesn’t work, it may be time to investigate why your phone is randomly vibrating. If your phone is stowed away in the back of a bag or purse, it could be brushing up against other items that are triggering haptic inputs. You can disable System Haptics and haptic Keyboard Feedback in Settings to prevent this from occurring.

The first step in how to turn vibration off on iphone is to open the Settings app and navigate to Sounds & Haptics. Here you can configure the Ring/Silent mode switch, the Vibrate on Ring option, and general system functions such as keyboard feedback and haptic gestures.

On this screen, you can also set which types of alerts should vibrate the iPhone – such as Call, New Voicemail, Message, Email, and Calendar Alerts. The best part is that you can edit each alert type with a different vibrate pattern, so you can customize how your phone should notify you for any and all of these alerts.
