We recommend using a U-lock as your primary bike lock when you’re out and about, especially if you have an expensive ebike. But, even if you don’t have a top of the line u-lock like the Hiplok D1000 (which we reviewed here), any bike lock is better than nothing at all. It will annoy the hell out of a thief trying to steal your ebike and hopefully make them think twice about attempting the theft in the future.
To use your lectric bike lock, remove it from its case and insert it in the frame mount attached to the seat tube and ebike frame. Wrap the body of the lock around a pole or other, permanent fixture and then through both wheels and another secure point.
