All-in-one PCs combine the computer components and display into a single unit. They are a popular choice for home and office use because of their space-saving design and built-in components. However, they are not as versatile as desktop computers in terms of their capability to support other devices as monitors. If you have a laptop that is not functioning correctly or has a damaged screen, you may need to replace it with an external monitor to complete your work. Fortunately, there are several ways to connect your all-in-one PC to an external monitor for multi-device productivity and entertainment.

How to Use All In One Pc as Monitor

The best way to utilize your all-in-one pc as a monitor depends on the hardware configuration of your all-in-one computer. Generally, a computer must feature a display 'IN Port' to serve as a monitor. However, the majority of all-in-one computers only offer display 'OUT Ports'. This means that they cannot function as monitors. However, some individuals recommend employing software to replicate the content of your other monitors to the all-in-one pc's display. While this suggestion works, the quality of the display is usually inadequate. As a result, this method negates the purpose of utilizing your all-in-one pc to serve as a monitor to begin with.

If your all-in-one pc features HDMI, DisplayPort, or USB-C input ports, you can simply connect the cable from your main computer to its appropriate port. Then, you can control the all-in-one pc's screen from the settings on your main computer. Alternatively, you can also use remote desktop software to control your all-in-one pc from another computer.
