imai movie review

Pol Kaaka is the story of a bodyguard who protects a high-profile woman. The movie is written and directed by Gautham Menon and produced by Ishari K Ganesh under the Vels Film International banner. The film stars Varun, Krishna and Raahei in the lead roles while the music is composed by Karthik. The movie was slated to release in 2020 but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in India.

In the era of US occupation, traces of outdated feudalism and wartime militarism were excised by American censors. Yet, filmmakers with leftist tendencies and support for democratization flourished - as long as their films were firmly rooted in neorealism and did not go too far to the left (as some of Kurosawa’s more didactic works discovered).
