EA Sports' Madden NFL 23 is an eagerly anticipated release, receiving positive reviews from critics and gamers alike. Unfortunately, however, some are disappointed that cross-generational play is currently unavailable and hope this feature will be added at some point in the future.
Unfortunately, however, this does not appear to be the case. A post on EA Answers HQ forum from an account called "EA Community Manager" confirmed this fact - making many fans saddened. Without cross-play, Madden 23 does not allow players to enjoy playing the game together on different consoles/ platforms (i.e. PS5 users with Xbox One friends can't play together).
EA has not confirmed when cross-platform and cross-generation support may be added, but it could come soon. Cross-generation support would bring new players as well as strengthen the MUT market for consoles that don't currently have as much of a player base, such as PC. Adding this option would be fantastic and hopefully, EA will implement it soon!
Madden NFL 23 will launch on August 19, 2017 for PlayStation family of consoles, Xbox One and Series X|S, Windows PC via EA App Origin or Steam. EA Play and EA Access members, as well as those who pre-order the All Madden Edition will have early access to Madden starting August 16.
