kevo review 2015

The smart lock is one of the most basic pieces of technology that most people can easily integrate into their home. The new kevo review 2015 shows that Kwikset has taken this concept and made it better with their Kevo Plus system that allows users to lock and unlock their door using their phone. It also works with other devices such as the Ring Video Doorbell and Honeywell’s Total Connect Comfort thermostats.

In order to use the Kevo app to control your lock you must be within Bluetooth range of it and have a compatible device. This could be an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. When you use your phone to lock or unlock the deadbolt there is a small delay as the app sends the command, receives a confirmation of that it’s been received and then communicates with the lock itself.

Another key feature is that Kevo is designed to work with the Nest Thermostat. When you set the thermostat to Away mode it can automatically adjust to a more energy-efficient temperature. When you set it back to Home mode, it will automatically return to your preferred temperature.

Another cool feature is that the Kevo app lets you distribute eKeys to guests, which can be unlocked at anytime or under a scheduled time. The eKeys never expire and you can instantly revoke a guest’s access by deactivating it in the app. The KEVO package includes the deadbolt assembly, an eKey, a SmartKey learn tool, two physical keys, a drilling template, user manual and mounting hardware. It arrives in a well-designed, branded box.
