If you haven’t seen it, the new Ghostbusters movie is worth a watch for its hilarious female cast alone. The 2016 reboot of the franchise also has the benefit of being a kids’ movie that isn’t afraid to be silly. TT Games brings that same spirit to the toys-to-life Lego Dimensions game with this Story Pack, which allows you to play through the film’s plot in six levels of action and adventure.

The Story Pack comes with a LEGO minifigure of Abby Yates (Melissa McCarthy), her Ecto-1 vehicle and the gateway build that recreates Zhu’s Chinese Restaurant on the Lego Dimensions toy pad. Once you place this on the portal, the game opens up a new, six-level Ghostbusters story that sees her teaming up with Erin Gilbert, Jillian Holtzmann and Patty Tolan as they chase down occultist Rowan North in a whirlwind mission. Each of the paranormal investigators gets a separate LEGO minifigure, and you can switch between them on the fly as the gameplay demands it.

As a bonus, the Story Pack adds an extra Battle Arena Dimension for Abby to play in against other Lego minifigures that have the golden Toy Tags. This introduces competitive local multiplayer into the Lego Dimensions Multiverse, with Capture the Flag, Objective, Base Bash and Tick, Tock, Boom! game modes that excel when played with friends.

The Ghostbusters Story Pack is a solid, substantial addition to the Lego Dimensions line-up. It’s the first Story Pack to offer a fully-fledged new story mode, and even though it doesn’t add much in terms of additional characters or vehicles beyond the existing ones, the additions it does make are well executed.
