mcdonalds steak egg and cheese bagel review

When the McDonalds steak egg and cheese bagel first hit the menu back in 1999, it was a breakfast delight that many fans adored. The toasted bagel slathered in butter held a tender juicy steak patty, fluffy folded egg and two slices of melty American cheese topped with savory grilled onions. It was a limited-time menu item that left customers wanting more.

The bagel is making a comeback, but it seems like only at select locations. It has been spotted in Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania and New England. Sadly, this tasty treat is not available in Idaho, Oregon, Washington or California.

If you can’t make it to a restaurant, try this McDonalds steak egg and cheese bagel recipe at home. It takes just 15 minutes to whip up this copycat sandwich. Start by toasting your sliced bagels to your preference in the oven or air fryer. In the meantime, whisk together the eggs, milk and salt in a bowl. Add in the chopped dill and pepper, then lightly beat the mixture until the eggs are light and fluffy.

While the steak is cooking, prepare the bagel by spreading butter on both sides. Add a layer of the cooked steak on one of the bagel halves. Then top with the egg and cheese (swap the American for cheddar if preferred). Close the bagel and serve. Enjoy this steak and egg bagel with your favorite coffee or iced tea to complete your meal.
