The mcintosh mb20 is the latest addition to the range of audio accessories from US high-end manufacturer McIntosh Laboratory Inc. The MB20 is a two-way Bluetooth transceiver that can both receive and transmit music wirelessly, giving any system the ability to play digitally stored music on a phone or via streaming services.
This Class 1 Bluetooth device supports Bluetooth 5.0 with aptX HD and operates at a range of up to 150 feet, so it's perfect for adding streaming capabilities to older McIntosh and non-McIntosh audio systems that haven't had them built in. It also has support for Qualcomm aptX Low Latency for increased audio transmission speed to deliver sound that's in sync with visual media, like YouTube.
It's also ideal for a number of other uses including the creation of an audio bridge between two audio systems in your home that aren't connected by cables. Depending on the quality setting, you could stream music from one system to the other.
MB20 comes in a black, custom-aluminum chassis with a black glass top panel to fit seamlessly into any McIntosh system and has a number of inputs and outputs including balanced audio, RCA audio, Toslink, and Coax, making it incredibly versatile for any system.
The MB20 is priced at $500 and comes with a wall mount charger with adapters for most outlets around the world. It's a simple and inexpensive way to add Bluetooth to your home audio system.
