my love from the star review

When it comes to must-watch k-dramas, you'll be hard pressed to find someone who hasn't heard of my love from the star. The 20-ish episode drama about an alien who came to earth 400 years ago and fell in love with a showbiz superstar landed in 2014 as one of the highest rated Korean TV shows, and it was nominated for a slew of awards at the 50th Baeksang Arts Awards. Jun Ji-hyun and Kim Soo-hyun earned multiple acting honors, and the sizzling chemistry between their characters made them household names in Korea, Japan, China and beyond.

My Love from the Star also left a lasting mark on culture—Choon's infatuation with chimaek (fried chicken and beer) caused chiaek fever across China, and the show's scene in which Cheon and Min Joon share their first kiss inspired a lipstick shade so popular that Yves Saint Laurent sold out of it online. But it's the heartwarming story and dazzling romance that kept people coming back for more.
