After the No Man’s Sky NEXT update launched, many upgraded items require a new crafting item called a Technology Module to create. These items can cost a considerable sum in the planetary shops, and can be quite challenging to come by. Fortunately, there are a few different ways to get these modules without spending a fortune.
The first way is to simply purchase them from the commercial console at a Space Station or Trade Outpost. This is the most direct route, but can be quite costly, as each module costs upwards of 60,000 units. The second option is to dismantle existing upgrades on your exosuit or multi-tool. Each upgrade has a chance at dropping a Technology Module, with higher level upgrades having an increased chance of doing so.
Finally, players can also look for the blue crystals that appear on some planets, and then use those to open a container that will contain a Technology Module. This option can be time consuming, as it is possible to run out of inventory storage while doing this, but can still be quite rewarding in the long run.
Hopefully, this guide will help players find their hands on these much needed modules. We’ve also written a number of other guides on No Man’s Sky, including how to get a new starship, how to obtain Chromatic Metal and more.
