OnePlus, a brand once known as the "flagship killer," has now transitioned into producing flagship phones. The OnePlus 11 5G, priced at a competitive $699, demonstrates this shift with a focus on high performance and value.

Design and Build

The OnePlus 11 5G boasts a sleek design featuring a large 6.7-inch OLED screen, rounded camera module, and shiny glass and aluminum back. This design makes the phone lighter and more comfortable to hold compared to some of its competitors.

The device's 6.7-inch AMOLED display offers vibrant colors, a sharp 1440p resolution, and a 120Hz refresh rate. Although it lacks the maximum brightness of some premium phones, the screen quality is impressive for both multimedia consumption and day-to-day use.

Under the hood, the OnePlus 11 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, paired with either 8GB or 16GB of RAM. This combination ensures a fast, fluid performance ideal for multitasking, gaming, and video recording. The phone also features UFS 4.0 storage for faster read/write speeds, adding to its future-proofing appeal.

Battery Life and Charging

The phone's camera system, developed in partnership with Hasselblad, includes a 50MP main sensor, 48MP ultra-wide lens, and 32MP zoom lens. While the camera performs well in most scenarios, delivering high detail and quality, it falls short compared to competitors like the Samsung Galaxy series and Pixel phones in some areas, such as zoom and macro capabilities.

Running on OxygenOS 13 based on Android 13, the OnePlus 11's software offers a clean, modern interface with numerous customization options. OnePlus promises four major Android OS updates and five years of security updates, aligning with industry standards and addressing past concerns about software support.

Unique Features and Limitations

The device includes several standout features like the Alert Slider, a customizable user interface, and a large vibration motor for precise haptics. However, it lacks wireless charging and has an IP64 rating, providing limited water resistance compared to the IP68 ratings of many rivals.

The OnePlus 11 5G offers a balanced package of excellent performance, a high-quality display, impressive fast charging, and a sleek design—all at a competitive price. It is an attractive choice for OnePlus loyalists and anyone seeking a cost-effective alternative to more expensive flagship phones from brands like Samsung and Google. However, users prioritizing top-tier camera performance or wireless charging might find the OnePlus 11 lacking in those areas.
