The Panasonic HC-VX870 4K Ultra HD Camcorder from Panasonic brings the high resolution capabilities of 4K video recording into the consumer market. It offers the premium Leica Dicomar lens, 829M back-illuminated sensor and Crystal Engine 4K processor from the more expensive GH4 to deliver stunning cinematic image quality for your video creations.
Capture Ultra HD at 8 megapixels (3840 x 2160) per frame, four times the resolution of Full HD, to future proof your videos for playback on 4K TVs and beyond. The HC-VX870 also enables you to superimpose a secondary smartphone camera image on the camcorder screen via Wi-Fi for picture-in-picture recording.
This is one of the first consumer camcorders with HDR support, which helps to improve visibility in overly bright or dark areas by recording several frames at different exposures and combining them to create highly balanced images. The HC-VX870 is also equipped with Panasonic's Level Shot function, which detects tilting and corrects the image automatically. It can be set to three levels (OFF, Normal or Strong) depending on the shooting environment.
The HC-VX870 is fairly light for a prosumer camcorder, measuring only 353 grams. It is designed to fit comfortably in your hand and is fitted with a standard 3-inch touchscreen display with a 460,800-pixel resolution. An HDMI mini connector and USB port are onboard to connect the camcorder to your home entertainment system for viewing and sharing. NFC is supported for quick and easy one-touch connection with smartphones and tablets that feature the technology, and a cradle is available to connect it with an optional remote pan/tilt accessory for more flexible recording control.
