New England pizza chain Papa Gino’s has introduced its Traditional Thin Crust Frozen Pizza in grocery stores throughout the region. The frozen pies are made with the same proprietary Signature Three-Cheese Blend and ingredients used in Papa Gino’s restaurants. They are available in Cheese, Extra Cheese, Pepperoni, Italian Sausage and Pepper & Onion varieties. The pizzas are 12- inches in diameter and are available at Big Y World Class Markets, as well as Walmart, Market Basket and Hannaford locations in Massachusetts, Maine, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New Hampshire. They will also be sold at Price Chopper markets in the near future.
The pizzas are manufactured at Tuscan Brands’ state-of-the-art Tuscan Market facility in Salem, New Hampshire. The pizza dough is made with a flour blend developed in partnership with a local bakery. The pizza crusts are thin and crispy. The sauce is tangy and flavorful. The toppings are fresh and delicious. The chicken is juicy and the pepperoni has a nice amount of crunch. The pie is surprisingly good for frozen pizza. The only negative is that the pie is fairly greasy.
Despite its greasiness, the pizza is still pretty tasty and definitely better than DiGiorno’s. The pizza isn’t a total winner, however, as it lacks the pillowy crust that DiGiorno has and the ooey-gooey mozzarella strands worthy of an Instagram Reel. Nevertheless, it’s definitely a solid choice for pizza lovers who want a high-quality frozen pizza. It’s also a great option for people who live in areas without any Papa Gino’s locations, or for anyone who wants to get a taste of their favorite local pizzeria at home.
