Ping Glide Forged Pro Wedge Review

The ping glide forged wedge is a tour inspired forged wedge that will appeal to good golfers who want the forged feel of i59 and Blueprint irons in their bag. It’s compact in head size, but it ramps up spin thanks to a new textured face and grooves. It also comes with several grind options and soles to fit a range of skill levels.

Forged from a single piece of metal, the head has a smaller profile than previous Ping wedges. The grooves and face have been precision milled and emery blasted to create more friction at impact, which in turn increases spin on all shots. The rounded leading edge is especially helpful around the green, where it’s easier to manipulate the clubface to hit a variety of pitches and shot shapes.

The wedges are available in lofts from 50 degrees to 62, with two distinct grind options. The S grind has moderate levels of bounce and a more rounded leading edge, while the T grind features a narrower sole with less bounce. Both of these grinds are suitable for a wide range of players, but will particularly appeal to players looking for a versatile wedge that can be used on a variety of turf conditions.

The wedges are offered in a brushed finish, but if you want to customize the look of your wedge a little bit, Ping offers four different etching options, including an American flag, desert-scape, or one of three boomerang shapes. You can also add stamping on the back of your wedge, if you wish.
