The TS-D1730C component speakers embody Pioneer’s passion to deliver the open sound and smooth transition of driver response that is their hallmark. This new "Open and Smooth" sound concept provides a dramatic sensation where music is heard as it is intended by the artist. The open staging and sound characteristics enhance the widening effect of the audio field that extends well beyond the space between speakers for an immersive experience. Moreover, the smooth transition between mid-bass and tweeter delivers sound that is unmarred by crossover frequency dips.
Pioneer reinforces the open tone with a 7/8'' soft dome tweeter featuring a larger back chamber and rounded flange for extended high range and wider dispersion. A shallow assembly depth and adapter rings allow these tweeters to be mounted where you want them, not where they have to be. Additionally, a rubber surround and bullet step connector enhance the damping capability to increase efficiency and produce accurate sounds at higher power levels.
For the 6-3/4'' woofer, Pioneer has selected an aramid fiber-woven Twaron (r) cone which is known as lightweight, durable, sensitive, and heat resistant. This material enables the woofer to achieve excellent rigidity and speed while maintaining low mass for superior performance at lower power levels.
The external high-quality crossover features a selectable tweeter level switch to fine tune the performance of the speaker for your vehicle and application. In addition, the compact size allows the crossover to fit inconspicuously in the door panel for a clean installation without compromising quality or function.
