power play telugu movie review

After Orey Bujjiga, Raj Tarun tried his hand at a thriller film in Power Play. But, the director's lack of experience in making a thriller is clearly visible. The film has illogical scenes and a bland screenplay that will leave the audiences scratching their heads.

The story revolves around a drug-dealing Chief Minister, his ambitious daughter and counterfeit currency. The movie has some interesting plot points, but the script is not tight enough to make it a gripping drama. Besides, there are too many unnecessary scenes in the film that could have been avoided. Apart from that, the movie has a decent performance by the hero. Hemal and Poorna are also good. Comedian Venu is okay, but he could have worked a bit harder to impress the audience. Kota Srinivas Rao and Madhunandan are alright in their limited roles.

The movie is produced by Mahidhar and Devesh under the banner Vanamalee Creations. The cinematography is handled by Andrew and Suresh Bobbili has composed the music for this movie. Raj Tarun looks different in his serious role and he does well to impress the audience. He has changed his body language, dialogue delivery and mannerisms to give a convincing performance. Overall, Power Play is an engaging crime thriller. It is a must-watch film for fans of Raj Tarun. But, it will disappoint those who are expecting a big hit from the film.
