Nurse Practitioners diagnose and treat acute, episodic, or chronic illness. They may focus on health promotion and disease prevention, and they may order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. They also prescribe medications. They may work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, primary care practices, or home healthcare agencies. Nurse Practitioners must have a registered nurse (RN) license and advanced graduate degree.

Some remote NP jobs provide more support services than direct patient care, such as chart review or data abstraction. While these positions are not clinical, they can still offer the flexibility that many nurses want to maintain a healthy work/life balance.

For example, TIA hires women’s health and family nurse practitioners to conduct virtual medical appointments. Their job involves assessing and treating women’s physical and emotional well-being. They often use telehealth to communicate with patients and provide acupuncture services.

Other remote NP jobs involve providing medical treatment to individuals who have been injured. This includes home health and hospice patients. NPs in this role can assess and treat symptoms such as pain, swelling, fever, and respiratory issues. They can also educate their patients about proper medication and lifestyle habits to prevent complications.

NPs working for Keypro in the clinical quality review role can monitor patients from their homes. This is a unique opportunity for nurse practitioners to work at home, as it offers the same benefits of any other job outside the home, but without requiring a commute or compromising the safety of others.
