Savage axis 2 350 legend review
The savage axis is a rifle built for the budget hunter. It is a great choice for anyone who wants to try hunting or target shooting for the first time, or as a backup rifle in case of an emergency. It is easy to use and has a detachable magazine, which makes it convenient to reload. It is also very accurate, so even a beginner can shoot well with this rifle.
It features a black synthetic stock, 4 round detachable magazine, tang safety and adjustable AccuTrigger (2.5 to 6 pounds trigger pull). The 18-inch barrel is long enough for good performance with the Legend cartridge but not so long that it's unwieldy. The action is smooth and caters to the Legend cartridge very well. I was able to cycle the bolt quickly and stay on target with no issues at all, and the ejection of the spent cases was robust and reliable. The center feed magazine is easy to load and remove, though I'm not a fan of the plastic bottom that holds the magazine in place when loaded.
Although the savage axis has some competition from other rifles, it is still one of the best bargains out there. It is a great choice for a beginner or back-up rifle, and it will serve you well in most hunting situations. It is a very accurate, affordable gun that is perfect for deer hunting.
