Soju is becoming more popular in the United States and Europe, but many people don’t know what it is. Similar to sake derived from rice, soju is clear and distilled and has an alcohol content of between 16% and 25%. It is traditionally served with a meal and it also works well in cocktails, like cosmos and martinis.

There are many types of soju, and some have a more fruity taste than others. Soonhari is a very popular brand in Korea and this flavor of soju has an amazing strawberry flavor. The flavor is very smooth and refreshing, and it is perfect for those who want something other than the traditional vodka-based drinks.

The soju is made from a blend of rice, sweet potatoes, and tapioca which results in a light tasting soju. It also has a lower alcohol content than other soju brands. Soonhari is an offshoot of the Lotte group, which makes several other soju products with citron, peach, and apple flavors. Soonhari has a loyal following and their spokespeople are often K-Pop stars and actors.

Soju has a lot of potential to become a staple on bars across the world. It goes well with savory bar foods and is a great chaser. It is also a good substitute for vodka in cocktails because it has a much lighter taste and less harsh aftertaste. Sake may get all the attention, but soju deserves its moment in the spotlight as well.
