specialized allez review 2015

The specialized allez review 2015 is an excellent bike for novices or people on tight budgets who want to try road riding or get into competitive racing. It has a high quality aluminum frame and fork that handles and accelerates like bikes costing much more. It also comes with Shimano 105 components which are reliable and easy to work with. The wheels are a good choice as well since they are light, durable, and provide a great ride experience.

Specialized’s E5 aluminum frames use butted hydroformed tubes to create a stiff structure. To further increase stiffness, the company’s D’Aluisio Smartweld SL technology is used. This method of welding reduces the amount of material at the joints where stresses are highest. This helps the frame stay more rigid and reduces vibrations for a smoother ride.

To further improve comfort, the Allez features Specialized’s Body Geometry Toupe Sport saddle which is designed to promote blood flow with its recessed channel. This is a trickle down feature from the company’s more expensive models and makes for a more comfortable seat.

The Allez has a lightweight, carbon fork that provides a great ride experience. It is equipped with Shimano’s 105 drivetrain which offers crisp and precise shifting. The FSA Gossamer crankset and bottom bracket offer a wide range of gears to tackle any climb on the route. The Allez is an unapologetic race-focussed aluminium bike and has garnered a cult-like following amongst Red Hook racers. This is perhaps due to its aero tube profiles, stiff structure, and aggressive geometry, all at an attainable price point.
