Taliyah has had a few different skins since her debut in League of Legends, and while many have been great, others haven't been as well received. In 2020, Riot is giving the stoneweaver a new look with Star Guardian Taliyah and she's got some pretty neat features.
The new star guardian taliyah skin brings her into the freljord and adds ice elements to her look. Riot also added splashes of water into her recall animation, the emotes, and abilities. You'll even find colorful corals in her third skill. Combined with the new model, these changes make for a very cool new Taliyah, though it does leave players wanting more from her.
While Riot did a great job with transforming Taliyah into the Star Guardian, there are some things that feel off about this skin. The biggest problem is that it doesn't do a good job of capturing her character and personality. It's a shy transition from stone to ice and the effect isn't as strong as it could be.
Fortunately, Riot also did some great things with the new recall animation and emotes. For example, the new recall has her squishing a toy whale while she gives a wry smile. The new emotes are also very fun. The star guardian taliyah also gets some pretty cool abilities, including the ability to use her hp for a shield that can debuff both enemies and herself. This will be a great way to keep her squishies safe from fast attackers.
