If you've been a Star Wars fan for any amount of time, then you know that the galaxy far, far away is full of branching pathways and alternate timelines. There's so much that can happen in the world of Star Wars that it's almost impossible to keep track of all of the possibilities. That's why many fans have been clamoring for a What If series to explore the various different possibilities in the universe. And while Disney hasn't been too keen on the idea, it doesn't mean that fans aren't still dreaming of the opportunity to see a new Star Wars spin-off.
One of the most popular what ifs involves Anakin Skywalker and his transformation into Darth Vader. While it's true that many things led to Vader's fall, the decision he made in Revenge of the Sith to side with Palpatine was the real tipping point for his descent.
Another popular what if revolves around the Skywalker twins. Following Padme's death and the rise of the Empire, it was decided that the Twins would be kept hidden. Bail Organa adopted Leia and took her to Alderaan, while Obi-Wan Kenobi watched over Luke from a distance on Tatooine as he lived as a moisture farmer.
Fans are begging for Disney to take the idea of a What If series and apply it to the Skywalker universe. The franchise already has an animated anthology series in Visions that tells a variety of non-canon stories, so this would be a great way to expand on the ideas explored in the show. Plus, it'd give fans the chance to see what would happen if Anakin never fell to the dark side and if Obi-Wan and Yoda had defeated Darth Sidious.
