Super Why Alphabet teaches children about the alphabet and letter sounds, word recognition (selecting the correct word for the sentence), rhyming, and vocabulary development. The game is designed for 2 to 4 players and comes with a game board, spinner card, 110 question cards, and instructions.
Presented by the creators of Blue's Clues, this show is geared towards children on the cusp of reading and is an imaginative and interactive series that introduces preschoolers to stories while building critical literacy skills. The show follows Whyatt Beanstalk as he and his friends from storybooks (Alpha Pig, Princess Presto, Red Riding Hood, and Little Boy Blue) fly through books to solve problems they see in real life.
Each character has a special power that helps them with different aspects of reading. Whyatt works on letter recognition, Alpha Pig works with words and phonics, Princess Presto (daughter of the princess from The Princess and the Pea) works on rhyming, and Little Boy Blue is great at building sentences. In addition, Whyatt has a pen, the Why-Writer, which he uses to "zap" words into the book they are entering and change its storyline. Then, the super readers read the new version of the story to help the characters get over their problem. The new version of the story ends with everyone happy.
