The asus x553sa-bhcln10 review is a cheap laptop that does everything you want an entry-level computer to do. Asus has crammed in all the basics into a proper laptop frame, and you get the choice of a 15.6-inch screen with a decent resolution, a full set of ports and plenty of storage. It has an Intel Celeron processor and 4GB of system memory, which means it can do basic office tasks, surfing the web and watching movies.

There are few compromises in the asus x553sa-bhcln10, although you do have to accept that it won't feel as responsive as the latest phones or tablets. Its Celeron chip is from the power-efficient Braswell family, and it consumes less power than Intel's Core series CPUs, but it doesn't perform as well when doing intensive tasks like video editing.

A 1366 x 768 pixel LCD screen is adequate for basic computing tasks, and it has good colour performance when viewed from front on. It's not an IPS screen, though, and so it can look washed out or shadowy when viewed from above or below.

There are a couple of USB ports and an HDMI port for connecting to an external monitor or TV. A Kensington lock slot lets you secure the laptop, and headphone, Ethernet and SD card ports round out the connection options. The battery lasts four hours when playing a 720p movie, and that's enough to keep you going for a day or two of light use.
