Spider-Man was bitten by a radioactive spider that altered his physiology giving him extraordinary strength, agility and speed far beyond the best human athletes. He also possesses an inner “spider sense” that allows him to perceive dangers approaching at a high rate of accuracy. He heals faster than a normal human and has shown considerable resistance to diseases that plague normal humans such as the common cold and influenza.
The Fastest Spider-Man Feats
When Spider-man moves he can move at speeds faster than a cheetah, able to leap far higher than a skyscraper or break the sound barrier. However, most of the time his speed is just above a human’s. He can track a character’s movements with ease and dodge attacks that would kill most human fighters.
For example, he can web civilians hands off the rail of a TKTS train before Electro’s lightning can touch them and even blitz Daredevil, who is a casual bullet timer. Similarly, he can catch a train moving at over 40mph and jump off of it before the train can stop.
He can also hurl webs with a force that can stretch over 30 stories and still hit its target in 1/100 of a second. This is incredibly fast, considering it takes 1/1000 of a second for the earth’s rotation to move 1 mile. Usain Bolt at peak power outputs about 2600 watts over a single 100m sprint while Hafthor Bjornsson can squat 500kg which is roughly equivalent to the amount of energy produced by a train travelling at 30mph.
