After a brutal and upsetting episode, The Walking Dead lightened the mood with the introduction of The Kingdom, a colony of survivors that embraces a medieval theme and is led by a guy who calls himself King Ezekiel. He also has a tiger named Shiva. Carol’s reaction to the Kingdom was both humorous and heartbreaking, but that doesn’t mean she wants to stay.
She explains to Morgan that she can’t live like this anymore and wants to go back to Alexandria to get the word out that Negan and the Saviors need to die. Morgan doesn’t believe her, but he promises to help.
When they arrive at the house where Carol has been staying, he puts down the flag and escorts her inside the cottage. She finds an old woman walker inside and kills it, then buries it outside among the tombstones. Carol reads a book and then hears a knock at the door. It’s Ezekiel and Shiva. He hands her a pomegranate and says, “You really gotta try one of these.”
It seems unlikely that Carol would keep her visit to The Kingdom secret from the people in this small community. The people there are probably talking about it the same way that they talk about Rick, Daryl and everyone else who visits them. Plus, there’s a chance that Morgan knows who was killed by The Saviors and could tell Carol. If that’s the case, it might be enough to convince her to stay and fight.
