If you have a steam deck that drains its battery when it’s off, here are some tips for making it last longer. First, make sure that all connections are disabled. This includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and anything else that you’re not using. This can significantly extend the battery life of your steam deck.

Another way to save power is by turning on the adaptive brightness feature in your steam deck settings. This will automatically adjust the screen’s brightness depending on your environment. It’s one of the easiest ways to reduce your battery usage.

It’s also a good idea to reduce the display’s framerate to 30 fps. This will help you get more battery life out of your steam deck when you’re playing games. It’s important to note that reducing the framerate will impact your gaming experience.

Finally, you can improve your battery life by adjusting the performance settings for each game you play. You can do this by enabling the “use per-game profile” option in your steam deck settings.

Valve has stated that the Steam Deck can last anywhere from two to eight hours depending on how heavily you use it and which games you choose to play. However, a YouTuber called Gamers Nexus was not able to hit that upper limit during his tests.

Nevertheless, his testing did show that the Steam Deck can last much longer than many expected with a few simple tweaks. We’ve put some of these tips into action, and they worked pretty well for us.
