Unlike the Urban Decay Optical Illusion or De-slick primers that are also very good, this one falls into category (b). It does not nourish the skin in any way and it just works for what it is designed to do. Pores blur and fine lines are smoothed out but this is about all. It looks like a white cream and is rather thick.
It does not have any silicones that will fill in the skin - rather it uses oil free Matrixyl 3000 and Hyaluronic Filling Spheres to plump and smooth the skin. It does leave a very light sheen come glow on the skin that helps makeup stay in place and does make the face look quite flawless.
It is a good primer but I feel that it could have been better. I do not know why they decided to change the formula but it would have been nice to retain the hiding pores function while improving other things. It would be even better if this was available in a tube as these ingredients tend to break down and go bad over time in jars.
