What Does Focus Do In Elden Ring?
As you progress through the Lands Between, you'll encounter several enemies that deal various types of damage. Some of these enemies can even put you to sleep or make you insane. In order to avoid such a fate, you'll need a high level of the Focus stat.
The Focus stat is a defensive one and increases your resistance to both Sleep and Madness status effects. The stat is indirectly increased by leveling up the Mind attribute, and it can also be boosted by certain equipment. For example, the Clarifying Horn Charm talisman and mottled necklace can increase your Focus level directly, while armor pieces like Greathood, Fire Prelates Gauntlets, and Corwyn's Robe can also improve it.
While the stat isn't very important for most players, it can be helpful in certain situations. In particular, if you're a spellcaster who needs to remain in control of the game's world, having a high Focus level can help you resist enemies that inflict the Sleep or Madness status effects.
However, it's not necessary to invest a lot of character points into the Focus stat if you're not planning on using any of the Sleep or Madness-inflicting enemies in the game. It's better to spend your runes on more important defensive stats instead. Regardless, a high Focus level is still beneficial for any player as it will help them in their journey through the Lands Between.
