What Does OTG Mean in Text?

OTG stands for ‘On-The-Go’ and refers to those USB flash drives that are designed for mobile devices. They allow your phone to act as a host and then connect to other USB devices such as keyboards, mice, cameras, storage devices and other peripherals that are normally connected to the computer via cables.

OTG is also a Snapchat feature that allows you to upload snaps and stories even when you don’t have Wi-Fi or mobile data. This feature is available on Android phones that support OTG and can be enabled in the Settings app.

To enable OTG, the device must be capable of performing both Host and Peripheral roles. This means that it must have a dedicated pin that when pulled low, enters the Host role, and when released, enters the Peripheral mode. Unlike a typical computer that may simply add drivers for any unsup- ported devices, OTG requires the devices to include what is called a Targeted Peripheral List (TPL). This defines a set of supported peripherals and requires each device to provide a message to the end user when an unsupported device is plugged in.

OTG and its licensors, suppliers, advertisers, and distributors are not responsible for any claims or damage that is caused by any device that is not an OTG-provided device, such as loss of data or loss of access to files or folders. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless OTG and its officers, directors, employees, agents, licensors and distributors against any claims by you or third parties that are caused by or related to your use of the Programs.
