A 17 out of 20 means 85% which is a pretty good grade. It shows that you’re doing better than most other students and are putting in the effort. However, there are many other factors that come into play when determining your grade on a test or assignment. For example, how hard was the test or assignment? Was it worth a lot of points or was it just a small portion of the overall grade?
To convert the percentage to a letter grade, you need to know what your local grading system is. Luckily, we have created a free grade calculator that automatically calculates your grade based on the local grading scale you select. It takes the number of correct answers and the total number of questions and translates it to your desired grade.
To do this, first find the fraction of the total number of questions you answered correctly using your numerator and denominator: 17 (numerator) / 20 (denominator). Then multiply this result by 100 to convert it into a percentage: 17/20 * 100 = 85%.
While a B is not the best grade, it shows that you’re doing well and are knowledgeable in the class material. In most schools, a C is considered passing and it will not negatively impact your GPA if you’re doing other things right, such as handing in all of your homework and answering most questions on tests correctly. If you want to improve your grade, the best thing to do is work harder and get more questions right on your next test or assignment.
