What is Frustration Free Packaging?

Frustration Free Packaging is a shipping program designed by Amazon to improve customer unboxing experiences. The program aims to reduce “wrap rage” – frustration caused by hard-to-open packaging that leads to damaged items and poor product experiences.

To become certified, your products must be prepped to ship in a single package that’s easy to open and has minimal damage rates. It must also be made from materials that can be recycled. Once you pass lab review, you’ll be able to list your products with “frustration free” in their title and use the Amazon-branded logo on your listings.

You must also provide two pictures of your inventory: one showing the front or top of the package, and another with a clear view of the item’s identifier barcode and seal. The pictures must be taken in good lighting and be sharp and clear.

Once your packaging is certified as frustration free, you can start selling it on the Amazon Marketplace and in their retail stores. This will give your brand a competitive advantage over sellers without the program and help you grow your business.

Aside from being eco-friendly, a major benefit of frustration free packaging is that it’s cheaper to ship than traditional packages and requires less material. It’s also a great way to cut down on waste, since you don’t need plastic bindings, wire ties, or clamshell casings. And, because the packaging is designed with the customer in mind, customers are more likely to keep it and not throw it away.
