What to watch on netflix october 2016.

This month brings new films and series to Netflix including James Cameron’s multi-award winning Titanic and Gregory Peck in Gentleman’s Agreement. Refreshes of classic titles like Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and the nerdy misadventures of Sheldon, Leonard and the rest are also on tap.

If you’re a fan of horror, check out this gruesome retelling of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein with Jeffrey Combs playing the scientist whose serum for reanimating dead tissue comes with some nasty side effects. There’s plenty of screams to be had here.

Another Netflix Original, this slick period drama stars Jamie Dornan as the leader of a UN battalion that was besieged in 1961 by 3000 French and Belgian mercenaries in the Congo. It’s a compelling if slightly familiar tale with some excellent performances from the likes of Dornan and Guillaume Canet.

If you’re looking for a more comedic option, then check out this mockumentary from Christopher Guest that delves into the ultra-competitive world of sports mascots who battle it out to win the Gold Fluffy Award. Or, you can go to the other extreme and binge the latest season of Black Mirror – Charlie Brooker’s dystopian tech anthology – which arrives after a two-year wait.
