Based on the novel by Ding Mo, when a snail falls in love is a crime drama that takes on serious issues. This is a story about how crime knows no borders and that justice is found by crossing them. The drama stars Wang Kai as Ji Bai, an ace police detective and team leader of the Violent Crimes Unit, and Wang Ziwen as Xu Xu, a new intern who specializes in criminal profiling. The two seem like an awkward pairing at first glance, but they work amazingly well together and become the best team in the force.

The cinematography was also really impressive, and one of the things I love about it is that the scenes didn't just feel like they were done on a set. It felt as though the cast and crew actually traveled to each location, and it made for a more realistic and immersive experience.

I also loved how the drama portrayed the characters. The characters were all very well rounded and it was easy to connect with them. And I thought the plot was intriguing and the storyline was pretty dark, which I enjoyed. Overall, this is a great drama and I'll definitely be watching more from Wang Ziwen and Wang Kai in the future.
