When Do Peloton Rowing Classes Start?

Rowing is a full-body, low-impact exercise that’s great for cardio and strength training. It’s also a workout that doesn’t put a lot of strain on your joints like running or weightlifting, which can be especially hard on your knees. With Peloton’s well-reviewed hardware, it’s no surprise that the company would want to add this popular workout to its platform.

Currently, Peloton’s classes include cycling, yoga, pilates, strength, stretching, and running workouts. Many of these are filmed in the studio, while others are filmed outside (like for outdoor runs) or on location (for On the Mat and Stretch workouts).

In 2021, Peloton added an indoor rowing machine to its lineup with the release of the Peloton C2. This new addition was specifically designed to accommodate the needs of a rower, with a larger touch screen and built-in monitors for class instruction and your own stats. Peloton also recruited Bradford Stevens, a former college and professional rower who has since worked as an on-camera instructor and trainer for a number of brands including Barry’s Bootcamp.

Peloton recently participated in an AMA thread on Reddit with instructors like Katie Wang and Olympian rower Alex Karwoski to answer questions about the new rower and the upcoming classes that will be offered. From what we can tell, the rowing content will be similar to the other classes on the platform but will include rowing-specific exercises.

It’s important to note that Peloton is locking down rowing classes so that only those who have the Row hardware can take them. Currently, these classes aren’t even available in the live class schedule on the app (they are only accessible on the Row). If you’re interested in purchasing one, keep an eye on our deals page as we may run sales on Peloton products, like the Row, from time to time.
