Under the towering palms of Anaheim, California, creators and fans converged to celebrate online video culture for VidCon 2023. Founded by YouTubers John and Hank Green (the Vlogbrothers), the event was held under new banners this year, with the inaugural event of the VidCon Industry Track and a first-of-its-kind retail experience.

Panels were packed with talent, with creators like Drew Afualo and Therealtati bringing audiences to their sides through humour and personal insights. Viral Nation content creators Keke and Spencewuah also shared their journeys to the top, giving insight on how they built their platforms from scratch. The line between celebrity and content creator is blurring, with many of these personalities aiming to inspire and facilitate inclusivity in the industry for those who come after them.

Attendees could immerse themselves in the digital culture with a series of interactive activations, from the YouTube Drop Shop to live streams of creator panels and presentations. YouTube was a main sponsor for the event, with their team taking the stage for the Industry Track keynote address and introducing the newest product features to attendees.

In addition to the expo hall and panels, VidCon features a range of workshops, seminars, concerts and meet-and-greets between creators and their fans. Up-and-coming creators can also take advantage of mentorship opportunities, with more than 130 different influencers, including Angry Reactions, Alex Wasabi, Bailey Spinn and Keith Lee, participating this year. Those interested can sign up for the Creator Track Mentorship Matchmaking by May 10. For more information, click HERE.
