Who is the drummer for pink floyd?

The band’s drummer, Nick Mason, was one of the few constant members across the various incarnations of Pink Floyd. He has appeared on every Pink Floyd album and has been a key element to the band’s stage show. He is also a major force in the band’s history, writing a book, curating an exhibition called Their Mortal Remains and working on restoring old material for release on box sets.

He is also the drummer for a touring band that plays Pink Floyd’s early psychedelic songs, called Nick Mason’s Saucerful of Secrets. The band will make a stop at the Orpheum Theatre on April 3 to perform a selection of their classic albums. Tickets go on sale Friday at 9 a.m. through Ticketmaster or in person at the State Theatre box office.

While many think of Pink Floyd as the band’s songwriters and frontmen, the drummer’s contributions to their sound have often been overlooked. That’s in large part due to the virtuosity of fellow musicians David Gilmour, Roger Waters and Richard Wright. But it’s also because the mythos around the band’s original mastermind, Syd Barrett, is a complex and murky affair.

But in truth, if it wasn’t for Mason’s steady beat, Pink Floyd may not have had the same impact on music and culture as they did. He has been one of the most important drummers of the last six decades. And he’s still working hard to bring the band and their legacy to new audiences.
