Why Are You Being Weird to Me?

When someone calls you weird, it usually means that your behaviors or mannerisms are different from the majority. You might use profanity in public or say taboo things about religion, politics, or society that people find offensive or confusing. You also might have a lack of decorum, politeness, or respect, and you speak what is on your mind regardless of whether it is appropriate to the situation. Many of history's most innovative and creative people were viewed as strange or eccentric, including artists like Vincent van Gogh.

Weird people often act in ways that entertain or amuse themselves, but alienate or confuse other people. They may repeat a joke they have with themselves or recite an off-color lyric for their own amusement, even though it is not appropriate to the surrounding conversation. They don't realize that they are behaving oddly, or they may not care if others think it is strange. They are simply in their own little world. Trying to avoid being weird is impossible both logically and emotionally, so it's better to embrace your inner weirdo and enjoy it.
