The latest iOS 16 update brought a ton of cool new features, but one of the most popular is the ability to edit sent text messages. This feature is super useful for those times when you accidentally fumble your words or send something that you wish you could take back. Unfortunately, there are some users who have encountered problems with this feature. This article will help you solve the problem and get back to enjoying this handy tool.

The first step is to make sure that you have the latest version of iOS 16. To do this, head to Settings -> General -> Software Update and tap the Download and Install button. Once the update is complete, try editing a message again and see if it works.

It is also important to note that the editing feature only works within iMessage, not with green-bubble SMS messaging, and it doesn’t work with Android devices. It also only works if the recipient has updated to iOS 16 on their iPhone, iPad, or Mac OS Ventura. If the recipient doesn’t have the latest version, the edited message will be sent as a new text message prefaced with “Edited to” instead of replacing the original text.

Finally, it is important to check the status of iMessage on Apple’s system status page before trying to edit or unsend messages. If iMessage is down, you won’t be able to use this feature until it returns.
