Why Can't I Screen Share on FaceTime?

FaceTime lets you feel like you’re sitting right next to friends and family, even if they live across town or the country. But what if you want to show them something on your screen? It’s easy to do that with the new feature called SharePlay. Here’s how it works:

Start a FaceTime call with anyone using a compatible device. During the call, click the “Screen Share” icon. Choose whether to share a window or your entire screen. If you’re sharing a window, select it in the pop-up menu and move your cursor over it to select what you want to show. If you’re sharing your entire screen, simply click anywhere on the screen and it will appear for other people during the call just as you see it.

If you’re having trouble with the feature, try one of these solutions:

1. Update Your Device: Make sure that your iOS device is updated to the latest version. This can help fix problems with FaceTime, including the ones related to screen sharing.

2. Test Your Screen Sharing Beforehand: Make sure that you can properly use the SharePlay feature before you actually do a real-time call with someone. This will allow you to address any issues beforehand and prevent them from occurring during the actual call.

If you’re having a problem with the feature, the best thing to do is contact Apple Support via chat, email, or phone. They’re usually quick to respond and can help you resolve the issue, either by guiding you through it or by taking over your device and fixing it for you.
